Welcome to the first Rockford FFA newsletter.

This newsletter will be to inform all parents, alumni, and supporters of what we have done, and what we have coming up! As well as any important things we may need! We hope that you can subscribe and watch for the newsletter on the 15th of each month!

Chapter Happenings!

This past month has been a busy one! We got into the swing of things by hosting our Back 2 School BBQ at the end of August. We hosted 45 students to kick off the new school year.

We also took a team to state livestock Judging. Those that Participated were Corbin Harris, Cole Cross, Carley Cross, and Joe Koehler. They received a bronze. We helped park cars at the local threshers reunion and even did some yield sampling in our test plot.

Winner Alert!! This year we sent a team to the Manson North West FFA Trap shoot. We ended up taking home First place! Team members and their placings are Corbin Harris (5th overall), Wyatt Parcher (3rd overall), and Cole Cross (4th overall.

Fast Facts

  • The Ag Business NIACC class went to the Precision Ag day in Nashua. They were able to program the planting equipment the fastest and got first place as a school!

  • We hosted drive your tractor to school day, farm safety day, and our first chapter meeting.

  • Freshmen Members attended Greenhand Fire Up and we took 5 teams to district soils!

  • We delivered to 7 different harvest crews for harvest meals.

  • We planted cover crops on our test plot

  • We carved pumpkins at our October Meeting, check out our facebook page to vote for your favorite

We have so many fun events planned. Keep an eye on our Facebook Page for detailed updates! Here is a quick list of events

  • October 31st-November 4th- National FFA convention. We will be walking across the stage to receive a National Chapter Award and Amber Reams will be receiving her American degree.

  • November 6th- Fruit Sales Due, Food Drive Starts

  • November 8th- Pork Congress Judging contest

  • November 11th-Ignite Amplify Transform Conference

  • November 14th- Alumni Dinner, 6:30 pm-All Alumni and Supporters are welcome to come and enjoy chicken alfredo or spaghetti as a thank you for supporting us!

  • November 20th- November Chapter Meeting, 6:30 pm in Cafeteria. Potluck, Making Tie Blankets, playing volleyball.

  • December 9th-Rockford’s Rock’n Light Show 5-8pm

  • December 11th- Toys 4 Tots Shopping-6:30pm Fleet Farm, Mason City

  • December 19th- December Chapter meeting, 6:30pm Bring a gift valued at $10 to participate in a gift exchange.

  • January 18th- January Meeting, 6:30 pm-Cafeteria, making care packages for troops overseas.

  • January 30th-Legislative Symposium

  • February 2nd- Chili Heat

  • February 7th- District FFA Officer Interviews in Nashua

  • February 15th- Chapter meeting 6:30pm, Cafeteria

  • February 19th- WE HOST! Subdistrict contest. If interested in judging, contact Mrs. Jenkins!
