2023-2024 Banquet

We recently held our annual banquet. We had a total of 125 people that attended our banquet. We served them steak sandwiches, cheesy potatoes, and sweet corn. We had the Floyd County Cattlemen grill for us and Marcia Carroll let us use the kitchen. We had many awards to give out to our students. We also had 10 items auctioned off by Bob Schmitt. The auction raised $1200 for the Alumni Scholarship Fund.

At the banquet we announced our new officers. To be an officer, members had to fill out an application and be interviewed by teachers and the senior FFA members.

Our new officers are:

President: Kylen Enabnit

Vice President: Grace Schmitt

Secretary: Maggie Buseman

Treasurer: Wyatt Parcher

Reporter: Danika deBuhr

Historian: Maryssa Walker

Sentinel: Dillon Borchardt

We are excited to see where we go this next year!

1st Annual Alumni Toy Show

Vendors getting set up for the toy show.

We had a Toy show on March 23rd at Rockford High School. We helped our alumni put on our first toy show. We had vendors come and sell farm toys. Collin Bohr helped with the advertising and setting the whole event up. It was a great success and we plan on doing it again in the future. If you are interested in being a vendor in the future let us know!

Grow Towers

Members with the boxes of towers ready to be assembled.

We recently got a grant from Farm Credit Services to purchase some new grow towers for our horticulture class to grow food for the school lunch program. We have 3 now that we will have around the school so all the students can see the progress and see where their food comes from.

T-shirt Sponsorship

We are sending out sponsorship papers for anyone who would like to donate to our annual Chapter T-Shirts. This is our 3rd year doing this and it has been a great success. The members love getting a t-shirt and being able to match fellow members. Without having sponsors pay for these shirts it would not be possible to give every member one. Our goal is to raise $1,200. If you donate you can have your name or company put on the back with our other sponsors. If you are interested in donating please talk to a member to have them get you the form or email Mrs. Jenkins at [email protected].

A Goodbye and a Hello

Mrs. Jenkins with the 2023-2024 Officer Team

We recently found out that our Advisor, Mrs. Jenkins is leaving after this year to take care of her kids. It has been great having her for an advisor the last 6 years. We couldn’t be more thankful for everything she has done for the chapter. We recently found out who her replacement is going to be. Jen Schmitt will be our new advisor starting next fall. Mrs Jenkins is going to help her this summer so that she will be fully ready to take over next fall. We are all excited that she is going to be our new advisor but we will all miss having Mrs. Jenkins as our advisor. If you see Jen, please give her a warm welcome!
